I started visiting Asbury Park, New Jersey in 2000. I loved the colors, the sense of calm, the older, dilapidated buildings were beautiful, nostalgic. I knew they wouldn't last very long. Asbury Park was growing. The locals were slowly leaving. So I decided to photograph the buildings I felt were a part of its history, but would soon be demolished.

I wanted them to be remembered. To be forever part of the memory, the history of Asbury Park.
